Since 2001, the mission of the Human Resources Sectorial Committee of the Maritime Industry (CSMOIM) has been to support employers and employees by implementing human resources and skills development projects and promoting marine industry trades and occupations in order to help companies become more competitive and boost job growth in its activity sector. 

As a parity organization, the CSMOIM’s strategic position facilitates discussions between employee and employer associations and government representatives.

Through its work, the Sectorial Committee profiles maritime industry workers, sector-specific hiring challenges and skills development. It surveys human resources training and management needs and proposes solutions to be implemented with its marine-sector partners. It works closely with the education community to develop continued education and make it accessible.
